KD8USF Testing Group
The KD8USF testing group provides on site testing for all three amateur radio license classes, we utilize the LAUREL VEC testing system and resources. Working with LAUREL VEC affords us the oppurtunity to provide free testing to our applicants. While we do administer free tests, there is still a license application fee assessed by the FCC. We DO NOT collect this fee at time of testing, it must be paid to the FCC directly before they will release your new license. We will gladly help you through the process as best we can.Â
Where do I start? To even take our test, you must have the following with you on the day of the test.
2 Forms of identification (one must be a current and valid photo ID)
Acceptable forms are as follows
Drivers License (Photo)
State ID (Photo)
Concealed carry permit card (Photo)
Passport (Photo)
Govt. issued ID (usually photo)
Birth certificate
Social Security Card
A valid usable email address. (this is how the FCC will contact you)
The only other item you need is your brain. (we will provide all test materials, pens, pencils, calculators, and scratch paper)
You will also need an FCC issued FRN. If you cannot figure out the process to get this complete, we will be glad to help you on the day of the test, but it will slow the process, and it is extremely helpful if you have it done before hand. Below is a link to the website you need to visit to complete that process.
